Hauberg Birthday Bash

On Sunday, November 15, from 2 to 4 p.m., Black Hawk State Historic Site will host a free birthday bash in honor of John Hauberg’s 140th birthday. A performance of Chuck Oestreich’s original play about Mr. Hauberg will be given at 2:15 p.m. Cake and beverages will be served following the play. Representatives from the many groups and organizations that John and Susanne Hauberg supported and founded will have booths in the Watch Tower Lodge that day. The Black Hawk Hiking Club, Augustana College Special Collections, Rock Island County Historical Society, the Quad City Gem and Mineral Society, the Hauberg Civic Center, the Quad City Archeological Society, the Boy Scouts and Denkmann School will be among them. Come learn about these organizations, what they do and celebrate the contributions to the community this amazing couple made. The Black Hawk Hiking Club will have a hike through the park, meeting at 12:30 p.m. by the Black Hawk statue by the Lodge.

This event is sponsored by Black Hawk State Historic Site in cooperation with Citizens to Preserve Black Hawk Park Foundation, an education outreach organization for Black Hawk State Historic Site. Call 788.9536 or 788.9641 with questions.
