ITALIANATE BROADWAY ARCHITECTURE
This grand Victorian neighborhood liberally features one of the grandest styles of Victorian architecture the Italianate style. In this Broadway tour, you can see 12 of the various iterations of Italianate architecture from the traditional, boxy sub-type to the much less common front gable version. Broadway’s Italianates are constructed in brick and wood, but all feature the elaborate window hoods, brackets and canopies that illustrate the opulence of the Victorian era. Enjoy this step backward into the architectural indulgence of the past.
