RENTAL INSPECTION PROGRAM
Effective February 2, 2009 all Residential Rental Licensing fees and inspections are increased to the following:
- Compliance inspection
- No charge for first compliance visit; $55.00 each additional visit thereafter.
- Initial inspection
- $16.00 per dwelling unit/rooming unit.
- Renewal inspection
- $16.00 per dwelling unit/rooming unit.
- Temporary residential property license
- 4 or less buildings on the property: $35.00 per year.
- Temporary residential property license
- 5 or more buildings on the property: $110.00 per year.
- Rental residential property license
- 4 or less buildings on the property: $35.00 per year.
- Rental residential property license
- 5 or more buildings on the property: $110.00 per year.

Rental Inspection Program

On October 4, 2004 City Council passed ordinance number 95-2004, creating the Rental Residential Property program. The purpose of the program is to provide for the licensing and inspection of rental residential property so as to protect the health, safety and welfare of the people of the city. The program also serves to:
- Protect the public health and safety by ensuring rental units comply with minimum housing standards as established by city ordinances.
- Protect the character and stability of residential areas.
- Correct and prevent housing conditions that adversely affect or are likely to adversely affect the life, safety, general welfare and health of persons occupying dwellings.
- Facilitate the enforcement of minimum standards for the maintenance of existing rental residential property and thus to prevent slums and blight.
- Preserve the value of land and buildings throughout the city.
