Biography:
Terry M. Brooks I has been a resident of Rock Island most of his life. He is currently in his fourth term as alderman for the first ward, and his term will expire in May of 2013.
Alderman Brooks graduated from Rock Island High School and went on to attend the University of Illinois. Alderman Brooks is currently working as a neighborhood consultant.
Alderman Brooks is active in the community as a member of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center Board, Rock Island Housing Authority, New Old Chicago Neighborhood Steering Committee, and Neighborhood Partners (alternate).
Alderman Brooks has six children and four grandchildren. In Alderman Brooks’ free time he enjoys weight training, basketball, chess, reading, community involvement, and working with children. When asked his favorite things of Rock Island, Alderman Brooks replied, “The people! The people in the City, the love of Rocky High, and Rocky’s football and basketball teams.”
