Rock Island Fire Department Ambulance
EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES

The Rock Island Fire Department is dedicated to bringing compassionate, life saving emergency medical care to the citizens and visitors of Rock Island. With 44 Paramedics, 1 Pre-hospital Registered Nurse, and 12 Emergency Medical Technician-Basics, the Rock Island Fire Department is ready to respond to any emergency medical situation. The Fire Department provides two full-time Advanced Life Support ambulances staffed with two Paramedics.

The Fire Department also staffs 3 Paramedic level Engine companies and one Paramedic Rescue Squad. The Engines and Rescue are equipped with Advanced Life Support equipment. This allows quick and expert response prior to the arrival of an ambulance.

The Rock Island Fire Department responds to over 3,500 Emergency Medical calls per year, including vehicle accidents, cardiac, respiratory, diabetic, and other EMS emergencies.

All 911 emergency and non-emergency calls for Police and Fire Departments are dispatched through the Rock Island 9-1-1 emergency dispatch center in Rock Island.

In conjunction with Trinity School of EMS, the Rock Island Fire Department provides students the opportunity to ride and learn with veteran Paramedics.
