All street light outage reports can be made to the Public Works Department at (309) 732-2200 or by filling out the Service Request Form. If you have a request for a new streetlight, you should contact the Planning and Redevelopment Division at (309) 732-2900.
STREET LIGHT MAINTENANCE
The City of Rock Island owns and maintains more than 1300 street lights in the downtown area and the major roadways. The Public Works Department, Fleet Services/Electrical Maintenance Division maintains these lights. The City also contracts with MidAmerican Energy Company for the street lighting in the residential areas. City owned street lights are mounted on aluminum or concrete poles. MidAmerican Energy Company street lights are mounted on wooden poles.
