Persons / Property Unit
The Persons/Property Unit is comprised of one sergeant, seven detectives, a police criminalist, and one office assistant. Detectives are assigned to a variety of cases ranging from homicides and sex offenses to burglary and felony theft cases.

  • The Persons/Property Unit works closely with the Patrol Division in identifying criminal patterns and works to conduct proactive, preventative activities addressing neighborhood concerns.
  • Detectives work in conjunction with multiple criminal justice agencies at both the state and federal level including the State’s Attorney’s Office, the United States Attorney’s Office, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, the Federal Gang Task Force, the Quad City Metropolitan Enforcement Group, Rock Island County Probation and Parole, and other police departments on a daily basis.
  • As part of continued community policing efforts, this unit provides speakers for citizen groups and civic organizations and gives informative talks on a variety of topics.
