Board Responsibilities
The Electrical Code Board of Appeals recommends safe and practical standards and specifications for installing, altering, and use of electrical equipment designed to meet the necessities of the Electrical Code of the City.
The Board may, if needed, require or recommend changes in the standards, specifications and fees. This Board shall also act as an appeals board by individuals or organizations who wish to appeal a decision of the Electrical Inspector.
The Electrical Code Board of Appeals of the City, consists of six members including (1) the Electrical Inspector to serve as an ex officio member and act as secretary of the Commission; (2) the City's Fire Chief or his designee; (3) a licensed electrical contractor; (4) a journeyman electrician; (5) an electrical engineer; and (6) a representative of the local electric utility company. If there is no person residing in the municipality who is qualified under any one of these descriptions, the Mayor may appoint some other person to fill that position.
