Substance Abuse Prevention

In partnership with Rock Island/Milan School District #41 High School, a Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist travels to all schools to address the needs of youth at risk of using alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.

The Substance Abuse Prevention Program provides information dissemination, crisis prevention, and intervention support to clients and determines problem identification to make appropriate referral for serious family and personal issues. In addition, the program offers presentations in the areas of substance abuse and violence prevention, Latino Dropout Prevention, promoting health and personal development, working with “at-risk” and disadvantaged children and adolescents, and Essentials of Asset Building.
