Find out with the final lecture in the Rock Island Public Library's World War I history series "Over There, The War to End All Wars." Over the past 18 months, the series has offered a chronological examination of the United States' involvement in World War I.
An Army Sustainment Command historian will speak on "Armistice, The Russian Expedition, and Occupation of Germany," at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 14 at the Rock Island Downtown Library, 401 19th Street.
To follow up, the library will offer a new history lecture series, "The Next War, World War II, Examined." Offered again in conjunction with the Davenport Public Library, the series allows guests to follow the path of World War II in talks throughout 2019 by an Army Sustainment Command historian. The Rock Island Library lectures start at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, December 12 with a talk at the Downtown Library on "American War Preparation for WW2/Pearl Harbor."
