As Community Engagement Manager, Sarah Hayden is the official media wrangler, image promoter, social media guru, head writer and community engagement ambassador. Through her role, Sarah aims to provide better communication between the City and its residents, property owners and stakeholders.
Sarah was born in Davenport, but moved to Frankfurt, Germany at the age of 14 with her mother, who worked as a civilian contractor for the U.S. Army. Sarah graduated from Frankfurt American High School and spent her first year of college in Munich at the University of Maryland Munich Overseas Campus. She is a proud Army BRAT.
Sarah went on to graduate from the University of Iowa with her bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts. She had worked as a reporter for the Dispatch-Argus and Quad-City Times since 2012, the last five years as senior politics and government reporter. She interviewed every presidential, gubernatorial, congressional, mayoral and city council candidate during her tenure as a journalist.
