A public meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 24 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Rock Island Fitness and Activity Center, 4303 24th St., where the Rock Island Parks and Recreation Department will be sharing a strategic plan for sports recreational programming in Rock Island.
Topics of discussion will be the repurposing of the Rock Island Campbell Sports Complex; moving sports programming to in-town facilities; and the benefits and impacts of those changes.
The Sports Complex, Douglas Park, Hodge Park, Reservoir Park and the Hauberg sports fields will be discussed. The public is invited to learn about the proposed changes and provide feedback.
