As the Rebuild Downtown Rock Island project continues, the next portion of construction will focus on the 1800 block of 3rd Avenue, which will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning Thursday, June 13. Construction crews are preparing to remove pavement along this section of roadway.
Important Notes: Sidewalks along the 1800 block of 3rd Avenue will remain OPEN and SO ARE BUSINESSES. The mid-block alley on the north side of the 1800 block of 3rd Avenue will remain open to local traffic only via a temporary aggregate roadway installed by the contractor.
