[ARCHIVED] Thanksgiving Week Hours at Rock Island Public Library

Rock Island Public Library hours will adjust to accommodate Thanksgiving Week. After closing Thursday and Friday, locations reopen Saturday, Nov. 30, just in time for a special Saturday event.

The Rock Island Public Library (RIPL) Downtown headquarters, 401 19th Street; Southwest Branch, 9010 Ridgewood Road; and Watts-Midtown Branch, 2715 30th Street, all close at 6 pm on Wednesday, Nov. 27. RIPL locations and Library2Go bookmobile routes remain closed Thursday, Nov. 28 and Friday, Nov. 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday. 

Rock Island Public Library locations will be open from 10 am to 2 pm, Saturday, Nov. 30, just in time for a special program. Clinical pharmacist Dr. Cathy Rosenbaum, PharmD, will present a talk on “Memory Health, Even Elephants Forget Sometimes” from noon to 1:30 pm on Saturday, Nov. 30 at the Rock Island Downtown Library. Her remarks cover information about reversible and irreversible causes of memory loss, medication classes with memory side effects, and the pros and cons of various strategies to improve memory and cognition. The event is free and open to the public.

Dr. Rosenbaum is a holistic clinical pharmacist, certified fitness nutrition coach, and the Founder/CEO of Rx Integrative Solutions, a private health and wellness consulting practice in Cincinnati OH.
