Anytime, anywhere…home, work, or on errands you could be approached by an attacker. Get informed and trained on self-defense techniques. Rock Island Parks and Recreation will offer a classroom seminar as well as introductory and advanced classes on self defense skills taught by Kung Fu Quad Cities.

Self Defense Seminar will be held Saturday, January 14th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Rock Island Fitness and Activity Center. This informational seminar will go over the dos and don’ts of self defense and how not to be a victim. Fee is $20.00. For those wanting to learn techniques there will be a Self Defense Introduction Class to learn basic knowledge and self defense techniques through drills and scenarios to strengthen your control. Learn how to escape from holds and traps and what to do if approached by an assailant with a gun, knife or other weapon. No experience necessary, taught for all mobility, and appropriate for both men and women. Class will be Saturdays, February 4th through March 18th (No class March 11th) from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Rock Island Fitness and Activity Center for $50.00.
