[ARCHIVED] Register now for Chippiannock Walking Tour

History lovers can register now for a free walking tour of Chippiannnock Cemetery hosted by the Rock Island Public Library.

Take a free guided tour with the Rock Island Public Library and cemetery superintendent Greg Vogele of the historic and hauntingly beautiful Chippiannock Cemetery, 2901 12th Street. 

The library's Walking Tour of Chippiannock Cemetery will be offered from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Thursday, Sept. 28. Participants will learn about the persons buried there, see the architecture, and enjoy the captivating scenery. The walk goes on rain or not, so wear weather appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes. Moderate walking; some hills.  Tour meets at the Celtic Cross outside the cemetery office.

Reservations needed. Sign up via the library's website calendar or call the library at 309-732-7343.
