The City of Rock Island’s Snow Plow “Roadeo” will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017, from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the HyVee Parking Lot located at 2930 18th Avenue, Rock Island.
The City of Rock Island’s Snow Plow “Roadeo” will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017, from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the HyVee Parking Lot located at 2930 18h Avenue, Rock Island.
This event is held annually and is used to train Public Works employees for snow removal operations. The “Roadeo” is designed to test safety alertness, knowledge of snow removal practices as well as skill in handling snowplows. All participants are required to drive a snowplow through an obstacle course, take a written exam, and check vehicles for safety defects.
Spectators are welcome to observe the event.
