The City of Rock Island is declaring a snow emergency effective at 12 PM, Friday, December 29, 2017. Once snow depth has reached 2 inches, parking is not allowed on any marked snow routes until the snow has been cleared. Vehicles parked on marked snow routes may receive a $35 parking ticket.
Beginning at 3:00 AM, Saturday, December 30, 2017, there will be no on-street parking allowed in the downtown business area (15th Street to 23rd Street, 1st Avenue to 5th Avenue) due to snow removal operations. There will be free parking in un-reserved spaces in City Lot C (1st Avenue at 20th Street), Lot F (18th Street at 2nd Avenue), Lot A (2nd Avenue west of Bennigan’s), and the Parking Ramp (17th Street and 3rd Avenue).
