Kids and families have a chance to dance, build early learning skills, and get a free book, all with the Hug-A-Book Dance party at the Rock Island Public Library.
The Hug-a-Book Dance Party is from 6:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 25, at the Rock Island Downtown Library, 401 19th Street. Kids ages two and five and their families will move and play to music as they build early learning skills. Each child gets to select a free book to take home, thanks to funding from the Merrill Harris Fund of the Rock Island Public Library Foundation.
The event is free of charge, and no registration is necessary.
Hug-A Book is the library's ongoing early learning series designed to help create young readers. The library offers four to five Hug-A-Book events each year, all funded by the Merrill Harris Fund of the Rock Island Public Library Foundation. The next program in the series is "I'm a Hug-A-Book Reader" event on March 8, with activities stepped up to meet the learning needs of children in Grades K-3.
