[ARCHIVED] Check out your Thanksgiving Survival Tools at Rock Island Public Library

Thanksgiving is rapidly approaching, and that often means lots of time with family. Fortunately, the Rock Island Public Library also offers lots of resources and tools to help you entertain holiday company.

Resources available for checkout include:

  • Cake pans, cookie cutters, and candy molds for holiday baking.
  • Cookbooks (the original turkey support line.)
  • Board games for family togetherness.
  • Children's puzzles for occupying little ones.
  • DVDs for family movie night.
  • Books, movies and music for relaxing after all that company.

Board games and children's puzzles are available for checkout at the Downtown Library.

If shopping is your bag, Rock Island Library offers access to Consumer Reports Online, so you can research big purchases before Black Friday. If you run into a last-minute reading, watching or listening need, the Rock Island Library offers plenty of digital services, including:

  • Hoopla Digital: eBooks and audiobooks, movies & TV, music albums, and comics;
  • OverDrive Digital Media: eBooks and audiobooks, movies;
  • ERead Illinois: eBooks & audiobooks for all ages;
  • Flipster: Digital magazines
  • Freegal Music: Free music downloads to keep, plus free music streaming
  • BiblioBoard Library: Self-published works, comics, classics and children's' books.
  • New York Times Online: Free digital access with the link via the library website.

Digital services are always available, and automatically return.  They're available anytime with a current Rock Island Library card and internet connection. All Rock Island Libraries will be closed Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Stop in soon, or visit the library website to download digital materials.
