Due to pending inclement weather, the road closure scheduled for 44^th Street where it intersects with the north side of 18^th Avenue has been delayed until Tuesday, May 29, 2019.  This work is still anticipated to take about one (1) week and the new anticipated date for re-opening the roadway to traffic will be on or near Tuesday, June 4, 2019, weather pending.

This closure is to allow for the construction of pedestrian access ramps and pavement patching.  44^th Street south of 18^th Avenue will remain open to traffic. 

Southbound traffic will be detoured west on 14^th Avenue, South on 38^th Street and then easterly on 18^th Avenue.  Northbound traffic will be detoured west on 18^th Avenue, North on 38^th Street and then easterly along 14^th Avenue.  See attached diagram.

General:

The City wishes to remind motorists and pedestrians that the 18^th Avenue and 38^th Street resurfacing projects are ongoing and to exercise caution and expect potential delays due to the construction work.  Please follow all posted construction signs for detour directions as needed and watch for trucks entering and leaving the construction zones.

Two of the City’s major north-south arterial streets: 17^th Street and 30^th Street will remain open and free of construction activities during this project.  However, there are ongoing construction activities occurring along 38^th Street.

Pedestrian traffic will be maintained at all times during construction along at least one side of the roadway.
