On Friday, July 19, 2019, 14^th Avenue will be closed to westbound traffic at its western intersection with 38^th Street in order to construct new pedestrian access ramps, curbing, fire hydrants and storm sewer.  Two-way traffic on 38^th Street and eastbound 14^th Avenue traffic will be permitted.  Access to all businesses along 14^th Avenue and 38^th Street will not be interrupted.

We anticipate that this work will be completed within about 3 weeks, weather pending.  14^th Avenue should be re-opened to traffic on August 9, 2019.

Vehicle traffic will be detoured to 15^th Avenue at 37^th and 38^th Street.

The City wishes to remind motorists and pedestrians that the 38^th Street resurfacing project is ongoing and to please reduce their traveling speed, exercise caution and expect potential delays due to the construction work.  Please follow all posted construction signs for detour directions as needed and watch for trucks entering and leaving the construction zones.

The City’s major north-south arterial streets: 11^th Street, 17^th Street and 30^th Street will remain open and free of construction activities during this project.

Pedestrian traffic will be maintained at all times during construction along at least one side of the roadway.
