Update Rock Island is a segment at City Council meetings given by Mayor Mike Thoms focusing on news in Rock Island. The video segment from the meeting is available on YouTube.

Unplugged 3 - The third installment of Rock Island Unplugged will feature our Mayor Mike Thoms and our City Council, held on October 30, 2019 from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm at Riverfront Grille, 4619 34th Street.  It will be an informal yet structured event that will give citizens direct access to their elected officials.  Its purpose is to initiate and conduct an open dialogue about current City happenings outside the confines of City Hall.  There will be an opening statement by Mayor Thoms, followed by introductions to the City Council and an open Q&A held directly after.  All questions, suggestions for the City Council or general statements from the community are welcome.  Event will be held. Hors d’oeuvres, non-alcoholic beverages and a cash bar will be provided to attendees.  Hope to see you there.

Trick or Treat Night – The official trick or treat night for the City of Rock Island will be Thursday, October 31, 2019. The fun starts at 5:00 pm and goes until 8:00 pm.  Please be on the lookout for all the ghosts and goblins as they knock on doors.

Free Leaf Bag Collection - The City of Rock Island is providing free leaf collection for its residential refuse customers.  Bags are available at several locations throughout the city, but are limited to 20 bags per resident per day.
