Rock Island Parks & Recreation programming and facilities including the Rock Island Fitness and Activity Center will remain closed until further notice.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Rock Island Parks and Recreation Department is extending the closure of programs, events, and facilities beyond May 1st until further notice. The exception is Highland Springs and Saukie Golf Course, which plan on opening on May 1st under strict recommended social distancing guidelines.
At this time, picnic shelter rentals and summer activity registration including sports, recreation and camps will be on hold until further notice.
Outdoor city parks will remain open, however restrooms and playgrounds will remain closed. Please use social distancing with visiting parks.
The Rock Island Fitness and Activity Center will remain closed but will continue offering virtual group fitness classes. Registration links can be found on the Rock Island Fitness & Activity Center Facebook page.
As the situation continues to evolve, the Parks and Recreation Department will make the public aware of additional changes and virtual class opportunities through social media and at www.rigov.org. Questions may also be sent to parkrecmail@rigov.org.
