Mark your calendars and join Rock Island Parks & Recreation for a free Facebook Live Virtual Concert on Thursday, April 16th at 7:00 pm featuring country music from Kevin Horton. “In a time where we are spending most of our days social distancing, we felt that music and this virtual concert would help bring our community together and give families something they can enjoy from the comfort of their own home,” says Dan Gleason, Special Event Manager.

Guitarist and singer, Kevin Horton, started playing at the age of seven with his dad. The bulk of his time was playing with Southern Thunder and the Wilson Brothers Band in the Quad Cities. He has also opened for Johnny Cash, Randy Travis, Roger Miller, Bobby Bare & Mickey Gilley to name a few.

This Virtual Concert will be streamed live on the Rock Island Parks and Recreation Facebook page at www.facebook.com/RockIslandParksandRec. The concert is free, however virtual donations will be accepted to benefit the Rock Island Parks and Recreation Foundation’s youth scholarship fund, to help youth participate in sports, summer camps, and programming through the Rock Island Parks and Recreation Department.
