Rock Island Parks and Recreation will be taking Starlight Revue Summer Concert Series “on the road” to the community
Due to current COVID-19 CDC guidelines and state restrictions Rock Island Parks and Recreation will be taking Starlight Revue Summer Concert Series “on the road” to the community. For the next few weeks each concert will be shown live on Facebook for the public to watch from various “on the road” outdoor locations such as local retirement communities and residential care facilities. The first Facebook live virtual concert will be on Tuesday, June 2nd at 6:00 pm featuring River City 6 and will follow on Tuesday evenings at 6:00 pm for the next few weeks. "During these trying times, we still want to bring live local music to our community. With the restrictions that are in place by the CDC and state government, we have decided to bring the first couple of weeks of our series to the community virtually and from residential care locations allowing the residents, who do not get to go out right now, the ability to enjoy the music being played outside from a safe distance," says Daniel Gleason, Special Events and Fundraising Manager.
These Starlight Revue virtual concerts will be streamed live on the Rock Island Parks and Recreation Facebook page Tuesday evenings at 6:00 pm at www.facebook.com/RockIslandParksandRec. Thank you to our Sponsors of Starlight Revue:
Heartland Health Care Center-Moline, UnityPoint Health - Quad Cities & Muscatine, and Friendship Manor. We will continue to be flexible and follow current state guidelines and will adjust the summer concert schedule as guidelines allow this summer.
