Library2Go, the Rock Island Public Library’s traveling outreach vehicle, is now running on a weekly schedule. The new schedule is in effect through October 30.
From Monday through Thursday, Rock Island Public Mobile Library2Go routes run from 10 am to 11:30 am, in the afternoon from 2:30 to 3:30 pm, and in the early evening, from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm. The ongoing schedule brings library materials, held items, return capabilities, free WIFI access, and library card signup to the following Rock Island and Milan locations:
Fridays and Saturdays are held open for pop-up events, such as a Friday, September 25 visit to the Census 2020 event at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, 630 9th Street, Rock Island. Library2Go will be onsite to offer WIFI capability for Census form completion from 1:00 pm to 5:30 pm. Future events will be announced via the Library’s Facebook page and the Library2Go information line, at 309-732-7369.
Due to social distancing, there is no entry onboard Library2Go. Staff will bring items to vehicles. The WIFI signal extends around the vehicle. The change to a weekly route, instead of alternating week schedules, resulted from a survey of library cardholders.
