2021 Annual State of the City address – The Annual State of the City Address will be given at the next regular City Council Meeting on January 11, 2021. The City will likely continue to hold virtual meetings as City Hall may still be closed to the public. Rock Island City Council Meetings are televised live on Cable Channel 9 (Mediacom Public Access Channel), streamed live on the City’s YouTube channel and will be posted on the City’s website the following day at www.rigov.org.
Holiday Schedule - City Hall will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. There will be no garbage pickup on Friday, December 25, 2020 or Friday, January 1, 2021. Garbage for pick up for those two Fridays will be done on Saturday. Recycling will be on normal collection schedule both weeks. The City’s libraries will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.
