(Rock Island, IL) – The Rock Island Police Department announced it made 1 DUI arrest and issued 25 seat belt citations during the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement period.
“By keeping impaired drivers off the roads and ensuring that motorists and passengers are buckled up, we’re able to help make the roads a safer place for everyone,” said Chief Jeff VenHuizen.
The Rock Island Police Department joined forces with highway safety partners and both state and local law enforcement in the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement campaign.
The traffic safety effort was funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
