Beginning on Monday, April 17, 2023, the City of Rock Island’s contractor will begin work on its 2023 Crack and Joint Sealing Program. Work on this contract is expected to conclude within one to two weeks.  

There are four locations on this year’s program: 24^th Street from 18^th to 36^th Avenue; 38^th Street from 31^st Avenue to Blackhawk Road; 9^th Street from 31^st Avenue to 45^th Avenue; and Turkey Hollow Road.

No parking on the street will be allowed while the contractor is sweeping the street and filling the cracks and joints. Access to residential and commercial properties will be maintained as much as possible, however, there will be periods when this is not possible, when the contractor is working directly in front of the drive and the filler material dries. This work usually takes only one day.

Travel delays can be expected at or near the work zone. Please follow all posted construction signs and flaggers for directions as needed in the work zone. In addition, watch for trucks entering and leaving the construction zone.
