Noted children’s performer “Mary Macaroni” brings music and magic to the stage of the Rock Island Public Library’s Watts-Midtown Branch in a special evening performance on Monday, June 19. Families of all ages can enjoy a magical journey through music with Maryfrom 6 pm to 7pm on Monday, June 19, in the community auditorium of the branch at 2715 30th Street, Rock Island.
Mary Macaroni (the stage name for Karen Burris, of Chicago,) is the ultimate children’s entertainer, bringing a blend of singing, songwriting, guitar, and magic to audiences at more than 400 events each year. Her show includes catchy sing-a-longs and funny magic. Kids get to help Mary with magic tricks, making noise with shakers, dancing with scarves, and finding their voice through fun with music. One of Chicago’s premier family entertainers, Mary Macaroni was recently voted Chicago’s Best Clown by ChicagoKids.com. The show is free and open to all ages.
Later that same week, the Rock Island Library children's department presents a Monthly Family Storytime on Wednesday, June 21, 6 to 7 pm, Watts-Midtown Branch. A special monthly storytime for families who can’t make daytime events! Bring the family for stories, songs, and activities.

- Wednesdays, 11 am at the Southwest Branch: June 21, 28.
- Fridays, 10:30 am at the Watts-Midtown Branch, June 23, 30.
On Monday, June 26, the Rock Island Library hosts "animal ambassadors" from the Blank Park Zoo, also at the Watts-Midtown Branch auditorium.
