Celebrate National Library Week at the Rock Island Public Library

National Library Week is this week -- April 7th to the 13th. Stop by any of the three Rock Island library branches: downtown, Watts-Midtown or the Southwest branch to take advantage of special programs like birdwatching, attend a lecture on Civil War history by a Rock Island Arsenal historian, learn crafts or watch a free movie like the Color Purple, and so much more.

Are you ready for spring cleaning or shopping?

The annual Parks and Recreation Spring Community Garage Sale and Vendor fair will be held Saturday, April 27th at Longview Park from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visitors will have more than 70 booths to shop from with everything from baked goods and handmade items to second-hand goods. 

Anyone interested in being a vendor is asked to register by calling 309-732-7275.
