On Friday, June 28, adults who are curious about marketed CBD products can get science-based answers from licensed clinical pharmacist Dr. Cathy Rosenbaum at “OTC Hemp-Based Cannabinoids: The Healthcare Professional’s Perspective.” The free presentation is offered at 2pm on Friday, June 28 at the Rock Island Downtown Library, 401 19th Street. 

Rosenbaum, a former Rock Islander who has presented on other health and wellness topics at the Rock Island Library, will describe the history and regulation of cannabinoids in the USA, briefly review the pharmacology of these substances, and discuss the pros and cons of available OTC products and their claimed indications, and potential side effects. 

Dr. Cathy Rosenbaum is a holistic clinical pharmacist, certified fitness nutrition coach, and the Founder/CEO of Rx Integrative Solutions, a private health and wellness consulting practice in Cincinnati OH. In her practice, Rosenbaum evaluates clients’ medications, supplements, nutrition, and lifestyle choices, and provides written whole-person integrative health recommendations.  In 2002 she traveled to China to study herbal research and global healthcare solutions. 

Dr. Rosenbaum has clinical and administrative experience in hospital-based practice, the pharmaceutical industry, health coaching, and in academia.  She is a published author, radio show host, international speaker, and Tai Chi Easy practice leader.
