The City of Rock Island will break ground on a new clubhouse at Saukie Golf Course
The City of Rock Island will break ground on a new clubhouse at Saukie Golf Course on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 11 a.m., marking the start of an exciting new chapter for this historic course. The new clubhouse, located at 3108 38th Street, Rock Island, will offer improved amenities and accessibility for both golfers and the community.
The Rock Island Parks and Recreation Department’s new clubhouse will preserve the golf course’s historical significance while offering modern facilities. The building will include meeting space, seating areas, an office, kitchen and dining area, and outdoor seating with views of the course. It will create a more welcoming and fully accessible starting and ending point for golfers, while also providing year-round space for recreational and learning opportunities with an indoor golf simulator.
Funded through the Park and Recreational Facility Construction (PARC) Act, the project is part of the Rebuild Illinois capital improvement program, administered by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
Estes Construction is the construction management firm.
The City invites news media and the public to join this milestone celebration.
