Cold weather is the perfect time to cozy up with a book. Stock up your winter reading reserve at the Rock Island Library Book Sale, 10 am to 1 pm on Friday, Jan. 24 and Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Downtown Library, 401 19th Street.

Stock Up on Winter Reading at the First Book Sale of 2025 - Friday and Saturday, Jan. 24/25

Rock Island, IL: Cold weather is the perfect time to cozy up with a book, and the Rock Island Public Library’s two-day book sale is the perfect way to stock up your winter reading reserve. The sale runs from 10 am to 1 pm on Friday, Jan. 24 and Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Downtown Library, 401 19th Street.

The sale offers “pay what you want” pricing on anything not specially marked, and is run by Library PALS volunteers (People Advocating for Library Services) of the Rock Island Public Library Foundation, The 2025 sales are offered on the fourth Fridays and Saturdays of January, April, July, and October.

Unless items are otherwise marked, sales are by voluntary donation. Fill up a couple boxes or bags and make an offer! Cash, check, and credit/debit payments accepted. Proceeds benefit the library through Library Foundation PALS (People Advocating for Library Services) contributions.

Specially marked items of interest include Lego and Marvel comic books.

Information about PALS membership is available at the sale or via the Volunteer page on the library website. Additional quarterly book sales are offered April 25/26, July 25/26, and October 24/25.
