Readers of all ages can find great ways to stock up on spring and summer reading, and benefit the library at the Rock Island Public Library’s Spring Book Sale. Upcoming sales are Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26.

Rock Island Public Library Foundation PALS volunteers will host the “pay what you want” book sales on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26, both from 10 am to 1 pm at the Rock Island Downtown Library, 401 19th Street.

The sale offers great options to affordably stock up on a wide variety of books and other items for children, teens, adults in a variety of reading styles – fiction, non-fiction, cooking and instructional books, and more. Buyers can set their own price on books that are not specially marked.

Specially-marked table includes unique items, such as vintage books, comics, Library of Things items, or puzzles. Most start at $1. Specially marked items of interest include barely used homeschooling books and textbooks, and vintage comic books in individual bags.

The 2025 sales are offered on the fourth Fridays and Saturdays of January, April, July, and October.

Cash, check, and credit/debit payments accepted. Proceeds benefit the library through Library Foundation PALS (People Advocating for Library Services) contributions.
