[ARCHIVED] Get Creative with Free Tie-Dying at your Library

A librarian refills a bottle of dye for two girls tie dying t-shirts

Families and individuals of all ages can level up their creativity with a free Tie-Dye event on Tuesday, July 22 at the Rock Island Library Watts-Midtown Branch, 2715 30th Street.

Try Some Family Tie Dye on Tuesday, July 22 at the Rock Island Watts-Midtown Branch: The free drop-in event is from 3:30 to 5:30 pm on the lawn off the Watts-Midtown Branch patio. Participants should bring a white cotton or cotton-blend t-shirt or other item to dye. The library will supply all the dyes and other materials, including home-care instructions on how to set the dye. The event is free and open to all ages.

While you’re at the library, make sure you’re registered for the all ages Level Up at Your Library Summer Reading Challenge – or claim your prizes if you’re already participating!

The all-ages Level Up at Your Library summer reading contest offers rewards for reading by minutes and completing library activities. To sign up and participate, use the library’s Beanstack app/website, or ask for a paper reading log at any Rock Island Library. Level Up at Your Library summer reading challenges and 150 free events run through July 31.
