The City of Rock Island imposes a tax on the rent charged for the renting and use of a hotel or motel room within the City at the following rate of 7%.

This tax, which is collected by the City using a special form, is in addition to any tax collected by the Illinois Department of Revenue. The hotel-motel tax rate is set by city ordinance.
