Street Maintenance

City employee

There are about 87 miles of concrete streets, 61 miles of asphalt streets, and 6 miles of brick streets in the City of Rock Island.

The Public Works Department budgets funds each year for pavement maintenance programs such as concrete patching, asphalt patching, and joint sealing.

Potholes, undermining of roadways, and other routine street problems are patched or repaired on an as-needed basis. Gravel alleys are graded on an as-needed or request basis.
