Preventing Crimes Against Seniors

The Elderly Service Officer, Nick Pauley, is a member of the patrol division specially trained to play a more active role in preventing and investigating crimes against the older population.

The Elderly Service Program is another form of the Rock Island Police Department’s community oriented policing efforts designed to work with senior citizens to enhance their quality of life within the community. 

Services Provided

  • An advocate for the elderly sixty years of age or older
  • A tool to better connect with the elderly population
  • Investigates crimes against the elderly
  • Works in conjunction with other agencies regarding elderly abuse
  • Strives to prevent criminal activity that is targeted towards seniors
  • Conducts community education and crime prevention presentations
  • Heightens awareness regarding financial exploitation
