The current codes being used (not inclusive of all State of Illinois requirements) are:

* with local amendments, appendix of amendments, Ordinance 76-2025 - adopting the 2021 building codes with local amendments, Ordinance 77-2025 - removing sprinkler requirement for one and two family houses. 

Energy Codes

City of Rock Island has copies of the following energy codes available for viewing during office hours:

• The International Codes are available for purchase from the International Code Council (ICC).
• The National Electrical Code (NEC) is available from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
• The Illinois Plumbing Code can be purchased from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH).
• The ILLOWA Building Officials Association may also have some copies available.
