Requirements
An activity permit is required for any individual or organization using public streets in the City for activities including:
- Bicycle rides
- Marches
- Parades
- Runs
- Walks
There is no cost to obtain an activity permit.
Application Process
Please submit a completed Activity Permit Application with a cover letter, map and insurance naming the City as additional insured. If a state-owned street will be utilized, insurance must also show the Illinois Department of Transportation as additional insured.
The application must be submitted to Office of the City Clerk at least 60 days prior to the event.
In the case of applications for new events and/or new routes, the sponsor shall notify the residents and/or businesses located along said race route, parade route, or other, for that specific activity, in writing, at least three (3) weeks prior to City Council consideration. Prior to Council consideration, sponsor shall notify and obtain written approval or disapproval from the residents and/or businesses and submit a copy of same to the City Clerk. The sponsor may use this notification form.
