The Arts & Beautification Commission typically meets the second Wednesday of the month at 5:30PM. Meetings are generally held in City Council Chambers, 3rd floor of City Hall, 1528 3rd Avenue.

Commission Responsibilities

The Arts & Beautification Commission assists the City in the planning and development of arts and beautification programs that encourage public and private investment towards enhancing community character and improving the quality of life. The Commission is broadly responsible for the following advisory activities. 

  • Soliciting community input on the arts and beautification programming;  
  • Advising the Mayor and City Council on matters to do with arts and beautification;
  • Acting as a liaison between the City, agencies, associations, and residents relative to programs and activities;
  • Making recommendations on the development of new programs and activities; and
  • Monitoring and evaluating programs and activities
